Function Keys used with finacle commands in Finacle for Beginners

Finacle is a command driven CBS Application and following function keys from Keyboard are used exclusively used with variuos finacle commands for different purposes. Some of the frequently used function keys in finacle are listed as under.


KEYS                        FUNCTION

F1                              Field Level Help
F2                              List the codes that may be used in a particular field.
F3/Esc                      Quit/Back
SHIFT+F3                To completely QUIT and brings back to the main menu
F4                             Accept .This function key validates the values entered by the user and  
                                  takes theuser  to the next mandatory field or next block
F5                             BACKGROUND Menu (very useful key especially when you are doing any    
                                  transaction using one menu and in the  meantime you are required to visit   
                                  some  other menu)
F6                             Next block/ Next Page
F8                            Copy a field in some menus ( such as TM used for Transaction  
                                 Maintanance)
F9                            View Signatures
F10                          Commit which updates the database at server end
F11                          Validates & takes the user to Next Field.
F12                          Previos block/ Previous Page
TAB                         Go to Next valid Field
SHIFT+TAB           Go to Previous valid Field
CTRL+ Down Arrow    Next Record
CTRL+UP Arrow     Previous Record
CTRL+F9              MEMO pad look up
CTRL+U                 Page Up list
CTRL+D                 Page Down list
CTRL+E                 Explode/Drilldown (for further Inquiry)
CTRL+F                 Clear Field
CTRL+X                 Current Date (or BOD). Also in case of an amount field it displays the 
                                 highest value
